Vasudeva Cummings

Picture
Vasudeva, born Eric Nikolai Cummins, came to Yoga from a martial arts background, having practiced Judo from the age of 3. Only starting to train in Yoga in 2002, after he made peace with his martial training. Both his parents happened to be keen Yoga practitioners. His father being a Sivananda Yoga, Tai Chi and Chi Kung teacher as well as a massage therapist and his mother being experienced in both the Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga styles. His practice developed partly with them, but mostly through diligent self-practice.

It was in 2006 that Vasudeva became a Sivananda Yoga teacher, receiving initiation from Swami Govindananda in small Sivananda Ashram in the Himalayas.

His work as a Yoga teacher lead him into the world of Thai Yoga Massage which is an excellent body/energy work complement to Hatha Yoga. Qualifying as a practitioner in spring 2008 and as an advanced practitioner in the summer. Vasudeva is now assisting his teacher Kira in London and TTYMA teacher/examiner Amy in Glasgow.

The meditation and relaxation involved in Yoga awakened a keen interest in Hypnotherapy which he is now certified to practice. Having studied with Christine Herve and June Hale, co-principals of the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy.
